Summary

Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper into a new shape or form. You can use many different types of paper. People can create anything from bugs, to trees. They can use one or two papers, or even twenty. There are many styles of origami, like my favorite, wet folding, and tons of ways to do it.

The history of origami started in the 6th century when paper was brought to japan. Back when origami was created it was an art, you could even say it was a system of communicating. Each model had a name, and a purpose. For example, the model "Tsutsumi" was a formal gift wrapper. There was no real name for the art of paper folding back then, and the word origami didn't become popular until the 1890's.

I'm not going to give anything else away about my history post, so it's time to "wrap" it up. Origami is the art of folding paper. There are billions of things to make, and countless ways to do it.

  1. I really liked your summary and your "wrap" joke. I also like the way you wrapped up your summary. Your awesome Origami book post made me think of a cats cradle book I have. It made me think that because it shows you the basic things first. Then it gets into the harder stuff starting out with the basic things except the harder stuff isn't that hard. It is my favorite book just like the awesome origami book is your favorite. I like how you said what is your favorite artist.I didn't know anything about origami before I read your blog but now i do and i even know how to make some things. For a second I thought the origami pill bug was real! Did you make the pill bug? Great job.

  2. GREAT job. I like how you "wrapped" up your summary, I thought you put alot of hard work into your summary. When I first saw the pill bug it took some time to realize that it was origami and not real. Have you ever tried making the pill bug? I also REALLY liked the movie on that guy making origami while he was telling the story of how he stared, that was super cool, not just cool, super cool. Anyway I definately thought you put alot of really great info and that you had a good amount of cool pictures and movies. Fantastic job!!
